Our Story

The journey of Agape Special Centre

How It All Began

Agape Special Centre is a community based organization whose genesis dates back to May 2014. We are registered under the ministry of social and gender as a CBO and under the National council for persons with disability (NCPWD). Its drive is centered on assisting and integrating children with special needs like Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down’s syndrome, learning difficulties, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Mental challenges, developmental delay and communication disorder from within its mother county and beyond.

Our name "Agape" comes from the Greek word for unconditional love, which reflects our commitment to providing compassionate care and support to every individual who walks through our doors.

The specific objectives of the center are to provide the following services:

  • Offer physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
  • Provide assessment and develop individual treatment plans.
  • Implement therapy intervention strategies to help children develop skills that improve functional ability.
  • Train and advise parents/caregivers on interventions to maximize their child’s developmental potential.
  • Offer vocational training to equip children with skills for self-reliance and independence.
  • Provide nutrition advice to parents and guardians.
  • Assist in registration under NCPWD, NHIF, and Inua Jamii.
